Dr. Izumiya’s research team is awarded seed funding from the STAIR (Science Translation and Innovation Research) program for the Development of a Novel Cancer Drug from a Viral Protein Sequence.
Dr. Izumiya’s research team revealed a key cellular protein, which a herpesvirus uses to maintain silent infection to hide from the host immune system. Another essential viral-host protein interaction was identified.
